The method comprises the following steps: connecting the wireless terminal to a basic service set (BSS) in a wireless network; detecting whether another BSS exists in the surroundings of the wireless network by the wireless terminal; if so, recording a signal strength of a presently connected BSS and the signal strength of the other BSS by the wireless terminal according to a preset time interval; judging whether a roaming condition is met or not by the wireless terminal according to the recorded signal strength of the presently connected BSS and the signal strength of the other BSS; and if the roaming condition is met, switching the roaming of the wireless terminal to the other BSS.
