Abstract

The invention provides a network access method and system based on a home gateway and the home gateway. The method comprises the following steps of receiving a network access request message which is sent by a user terminal and used for requesting accessing to a shared wireless local area network controlled and opened by a remote management platform by the home gateway, wherein the network access request message comprises a media access control address of the user terminal, and a user identity corresponding to the media access control address; and determining whether the corresponding relationship between the media access control address and the user identity is included or not according to a local public user list, if so, indicating the user terminal to access to the shared wireless local area network. With the adoption of the network access method and system based on the home gateway and the home gateway provided by the invention, on the basis of not increasing the cost of hardware, the coverage of the public wireless network is enlarged by sharing the home gateway, and moreover, the reliability for users to perform network business is improved.
