The method comprises the steps of responding to an order of finishing receiving loading from a mail client, and checking whether mails to be deleted exist; storing the mails to be deleted in a preset file type if confirming that the mails to be deleted exist. The mails to be deleted are stored in the preset file type, so that the mails to be deleted can be separated from other mails according to the preset file type, the mails can be subsequently and conveniently sent in a targeted mode, a mail server does not need to receive extra mail deleting orders, and a user does not need to cancel setup of deletion.
