Abstract

The invention discloses a number set concept based process failure risk assessment method. The method includes the steps of collecting experts' detailed assessment opinions on three risk factors, namely severity, occurrence and detection, of each process failure mode, and using the experts' assessment opinions as a number set in a range: [1, 10]; calculating an average of generalized Hausdorff distances between the experts' assessment opinions and other experts' assessment opinions. In a group decision process, weights of the experts are objectively and quantitatively calculated with the generalized Hausdorff distances, comprehensive assessed values of risk factors and interval-formed RPNs (risk priority numbers) are obtained accordingly, the problem that generally the different process failure modes cannot be distinguished with the traditional RPNs is effectively overcome, arbitrariness and deciding everything by one authority's say during the traditional group decision process are also avoided, and opinions aggregation is more scientific and more realistic.
