Abstract

The invention relates to an LAN-free backup system. The system comprises a main control service module, a medium service module and a backup client module. The backup client module is mounted in a production server; the medium service module is independent of the production server and is mounted in a backup server. The backup client module, after receiving a backup task command, encapsulates required data into a specified data block format and transmits the data to the medium service module via an SAN; after receiving a recovery task command, the backup client module receives a data block from the medium service module and writes the block into a client storage. In a backup process, the medium service module receives the data block from the backup client module, and writes the data block into a backup storage; in a recovery process, the medium service module takes out a corresponding data object from the backup storage according to a recovery time point, and encapsulates the data object into a data block, so as to implement recovery. Compared with the prior art, the system provided by the invention has the advantages of: solving the problem that a backup window is too big, implementing flexible configuration and dynamic adjustment of the medium module, and being easy for integration.
