Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses a method for improving the voltage quality of a small hydropower distribution network. The method comprises steps of: acquiring a to-be-selected line of a capacitor, the number of the to-be-selected line, and a maximum capacitive reactance value corresponding to the to-be-selected line; forming an initial group according to the number of the to-be-selected line and the maximum capacitive reactance value; computing the objective function values of individuals in the initial group; and determining the installation position and capacitive reactance value of the capacitor according to the objective function values. The method may accurately determine the installation position and the compensation capacitive reactance value of the series compensation capacitor, is more accurate than a conventional computational method, and achieves a better capacitor compensation effect and higher voltage quality improvement in the small hydropower distribution network. Further, the method caters to the minimum annual cost of investment and operation of the installation of the series capacitor in the small hydropower distribution network.
