The method comprises the following steps of: calculating an earning of each chain of the last statistic period; determining a main chain of the current statistic period according to the earnings of a main chain and a detection chain of the last statistic period; selecting one or more chains from other chains except the main chain of the current statistic period as a detection chain or detection chains of the current statistic period; taking other chains except the main chain and detection chain(s) of the current statistic period as auxiliary chains of the current statistic period; and distributing a first-stage pushing flow for the main chain of the current statistic period, distributing a second-stage pushing flow for the detection chain(s) of the current statistic period and distributing a third-stage pushing flow for the auxiliary chains of the current statistic period. According to the multimedia resource pushing method and device provided by the invention, special maintenance is not required, so that the labor and time cost are greatly saved; through setting the detection chains, the selection of the main chains is more stable and reliable; and through selecting the main chains on the basis of the statistic periods, better earnings are obtained on the whole.
