Abstract

The invention provides a method for measuring irregular objects on the bag loading platform of cross-belt sorter. The bag loading platform comprises a measuring light curtain, a light curtain controller, and a programmable logic controller (PLC). The measuring light curtain and the light curtain controller are connected through a power cable. The programmable logic controller is connected with the light curtain controller through an RS485 junction manner and communicates under a free port communication protocol. According to the invention, in order to make irregular objects drop completely in the outer edge of a cart, and to reduce the requirements on the positions of the objects by manual placement through the bag loading platform and on the package appearance of the objects onto the bag loading platform, a mathematical modeling process is carried out for the object testing manner with the introduction of analytic geometric operations to develop a mature measuring method for the sizes and positions of irregular objects, which improves the accuracy of loading bags and reduces the wrong packet rate while improving the suitability of the bag loading platform and reducing the labor intensity of the operation men.
