The method comprises the steps that a first wireless local area network taking a first terminal as a wireless hotspot is established, and a first two-dimensional bar code stored with a hotspot name and an access password of the first wireless local area network is generated and displayed; a second terminal obtains the hotspot name and the access password of the first wireless local area network by scanning the first two-dimensional bar code and accesses the first wireless local area network through the hotspot name and the access password to establish connection with the first terminal; and the second terminal obtains a file selected by a user and sends the file to the first terminal. Through application of the method, the wireless local area network is established by utilization of the wireless hotspot of the first terminal; and the second terminal can transmit the file stored in the second terminal to the first terminal by accessing the wireless local area network. Even if under the condition that no external network exists, the file still can be transmitted. The limit of the external network is eliminated, thereby facilitating operations of a user.
