Abstract

The present application provides a data replication method and apparatus, and the method is applied to the storage device. The method may comprise: reading to-be-replicated data from a local LUN storage unit; determining whether the local LUN storage unit and the target LUN storage unit are re-deleting LUN storage units; and if either of the local LUN storage unit and the target LUN storage unit is the re-deleting LUN storage unit, and data re-deleting processing on the to-be-replicated data is finished in either of the local LUN storage unit and the target LUN storage unit, transmitting the logical address of the read to-be-replicated data and index information corresponding to the to-be-replicated data to the remote storage device, so that based on the index information, the remote storage device queries target data identical to the to-be-replicated data in the target LUN storage unit, and establishes a mapping relationship between the target data and the logical address of the to-be-replicated data. By virtue of the method provided by the present application, data replication efficiency can be effectively improved.
