The system comprises a crossroad traffic light, a sidewalk, a pedestrian walkway provided with a pedestrian crossing line, sidewalk guard rails at the two sides and a pedestrian waiting area; a main column is arranged at the end, close to the pedestrian walkway, of the sidewalk guard rail at one side,a subsidiary column is arranged at the end, close to the pedestrian walkway, of the sidewalk guard rail at the other side, infrared emitting holes are formed in the portions, opposite to the pedestrian waiting area, of the upper portion and the lower portion of the main column respectively, an upper infrared emitting device and a lower infrared emitting device are installed at the portion, corresponding to the infrared emitting holes, in the main column, and the main column is internally provided with a CPU, a signal light receiver and an effective sound prompter. The safety prompting systemfor the pedestrians at the crossroad to cross the road is linked with a traffic light system, standards and prompts can be effectively provided for the pedestrians to safely cross the sidewalk of theroad, the management work of watch men at the crossroad is reduced, the pedestrian safety and vehicle driving safety at channels such as the crossroad are effectively improved, the traffic safety condition is improved, and the system is also suitable for other important traffic intersections.
