Abstract

The invention discloses an electronic shelf label (ESL) positioning update method and system. The method includes the following steps that: an ESL receives a positioning update instruction, acquires an ESL label identity (ID) in the instruction, compares the ESL label ID with the own ID, and then returns a message indicating that the IDs are consistent when comparing that the two IDs are consistent; an ESL label wireless base station determines and feeds back positioning update information after receiving the returned message indicating that the IDs are consistent; and an ESL electronic labelsystem receives the returned information that determines the positioning update, stores an association relationship between the own ID of the ESL and an ID of the ESL label wireless base station, andcompletes the positioning update of the ESL. Thereby, the whole-process automation and intelligence of an ESL positioning update process can be achieved, only the positioning update instruction needsto be issued from the ESL electronic label system, the process of manually maintaining the association relationship between the ESL label wireless base station and the ESL is not required, the manpower input can be greatly reduced, the maintenance cost can be lowered, the time and effort can be saved, and the scheme is simple and convenient.
