According to the automatic measuring method, an unmanned aerial vehicle is used as a carrier, a binocular stereo vision system is carried, and binocular sequence image data are collected through cruising flight along the transmission line; and through line feature extractionand matching, binocular baseline stereo calibration parameters and matching pixel pairs are used for conducting trigonometric survey, three-dimensional width measurement values of the upper and loweredges of the transmission line are obtained, the measurement values are compared with the actual design width of the transmission line, and the icing thickness value is obtained through differences. The technology performs fast cycle measurement by means of unmanned aerial vehicle cruising, and combined with a data processing method, the automatic measuring method is greatly improved on the aspects of measurement efficiency and measurement accuracy compared with prior measuring methods.
