Abstract

The invention provides a time phase decoding device and a quantum key distribution system comprising the same. The time phase decoding device comprises a beam splitter, two polarization orthogonal rotation reflection devices which are optically coupled with the beam splitter through two arms respectively, and a single single-photon detector. Each reflective device includes a polarization beam splitter having first, second, third and fourth ports and is coupled to a respective arm via the first port. The second port and the fourth port of the polarization beam splitter are optically coupled through a first transmission light path, and a phase modulator is arranged on the first transmission light path. And a third port of the polarization beam splitter is coupled to the quarter-wave plate reflector through a second transmission light path. The single photon detector is coupled to one of the ports of the beam splitter that are not coupled to the two arms for detecting signals of three consecutive time slots within one pulse period. According to the scheme, polarization-induced fading can be resisted, and the safety problem generated by multiple detectors can be eliminated or reduced.
