The identification method comprises the steps of obtaining a yellow board image in a cotton field environment; performing adaptive threshold segmentation on the yellow board image twice, and determining a segmented yellow board image; determining a yellow board insect image according to the yellow board image andthe segmented yellow board image; obtaining insect types corresponding to the historical insect morphological characteristics; establishing an insect recognition network model by taking the historicalinsect morphological characteristics as input and taking the insect species as output; obtaining insect morphological characteristics of the yellow plate insect image; according to the insect morphological characteristics and an insect identification network model, identifying the insect species in the cotton large field, and determining aphids on the yellow plate; and according to the aphids onthe yellow plate, determining the quantity of the aphids in the cotton large field.
