The communication method comprises configuring, for a user equipment (UE), the frequency hopping configuration information corresponding to one or more bandwidth parts (BWPs), the frequency hopping configuration information being associated with a frequency hopping pattern employed for frequency hopping on the one or more BWPs; and carrying the frequency hopping configuration information on a BWP switching command or an awakening signal and sending the BWP switching command or the awakening signal to the UE.
