The method comprises the following steps of according to a history pressure value of at least one history effective work time period of the breathing machine, determining a pressure distribution reference value, wherein the pressure distribution reference value belongs to the history pressure value, the ratio of a first working duration to a history effective duration is in a preset ratio scope, and the first working duration is the sum of the working duration corresponding to the history pressure value which is not greater than the pressure distribution reference value; according to a pressure distribution reference value, determining a target pressure range end value of the breathingmachine; and according to the target pressure range end value and the pressure distribution reference value, setting working pressure of the breathing machine in the target working duration. Accordingto the embodiment of the invention, manual setting by users is not needed, the working pressure of the breathing machine in the target working duration can be automatically set, and the pressure setting efficiency can be improved; and besides, the set working pressure can be suitable for users using the breathing machine at current, and further the setting effects are increased.
