Provided is a sarcopenia evaluation assessment method for a sarcopenia evaluation assessment device that assesses sarcopenia on the basis of the walking action of a test subject, the sarcopenia assessment method comprising: acquiring walking data relating to walking of the test subject; depending onwalking data, detecting the angle of the knee joint of one leg in the foot standing period of one leg, the angle of the knee joint of one leg in the foot suspending period of one leg, the displacementof the toe part of one leg in the vertical direction in the foot standing period and the displacement of the toe part of one leg in the vertical direction in the foot suspending period of one leg ofthe test object; at least one of the angle of the ankle joint of one leg in the foot standing period and the angle of the ankle joint of the other leg in the foot suspending period; and judging whether the test object is the sarcopenia or not by utilizing the at least one walking parameter. According to this configuration, sarcopenia can be evaluated simply and with high accuracy.
