Embodiment Construction

[0054] Figures 1 and 2 show a smoking system 21 comprising a cigarette 23 and a reusable lighter 25 according to the present invention. The cigarette can be inserted into and removed from the aperture 27 at the front end 29 of the lighter 25 . The smoking system 21 is used much like an ordinary cigarette. The cigarette 23 is thrown away after smoking once or several times, and the lighter is then thrown away after smoking a lot of cigarettes.

[0055]The lighter 25 having a housing 31 has a front 33 and a rear 35 . In the rear part 35 of the lighter 25 is housed a power supply 37 for supplying power to the heating element for heating the cigarette 23 . The rear part 35 can be easily opened and closed by devices such as screws or snaps, so as to facilitate the replacement of the power supply. In the front part 33 is housed a heating element and a circuit device electrically connected to a power supply 37 in the rear part 35 . The front portion 33 is conveniently plugged ont...

Abstract

In the smoking system of the present invention, the replaceable cigarettes containing tobacco aroma substances are heated by a group of electric heating elements installed in the lighter to release tobacco aroma or other components in the form of vapor or smoke for the smoker. The cigarette and lighter of the present invention can provide various air flow patterns through the smoking system, allowing air to flow laterally into the cigarette. These flow patterns improve the delivery of smoke and flavor to the smoker and also reduce condensation of vapor or smoke trapped in the heating element region of the smoking system.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of Chinese patent application 94102530.6. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to a smoking system composed of a cigarette and a lighter and a manufacturing method thereof. Background technique [0003] An electrical smoking article is disclosed in our US Patent No. 5,060,671, which is hereby incorporated by reference. The smoking article disclosed in this patent has a set of disposable electric heating elements. Each heating element is provided with a tobacco-flavored medium, such as tobacco or a substance extracted from tobacco. The single-use heater / flavor combination is connected to a power source, such as a battery or capacitor, that provides electrical power and a control circuit that actuates the heating element in response to the smoker drawing on the smoking article or pressing a manual switch. The control circuit is designed to activate at least one but not all of the heating elements for each ...
