56 results about "Subtilase" patented technology

Subtilases are a family of subtilisin-like serine proteases. They appear to have independently and convergently evolved an Asp/Ser/His catalytic triad, like in the trypsin serine proteases. The structure of proteins in this family shows that they have an alpha/beta fold containing a 7-stranded parallel beta sheet.

Subtilase variants

The present invention relates to subtilase variants having a reduced tendency towards inhibition by substances present in eggs, such as trypsin inhibitor type IV-0. In particular, the variants comprise at least one additional amino acid residue between positions 42-43, 51-56, 155-161, 187-190, 216-217, 217-218 or 218-219 (in BASBPN numbering). These subtilase variants are useful exhibiting excellent or improved wash performance on egg stains when used in e.g. cleaning or detergent compositions, such as laundry detergent compositions and dishwash composition, including automatic dishwash compositions. Also, isolated DNA sequences encoding the variants, expression vectors, host cells, and methods for producing and using the variants of the invention. Further, cleaning and detergent compositions comprising the variants are disclosed.

Cytotoxin with a subtilase domain

A member of a new class of bacterial toxin has been isolated and characterised. The bacterial toxin is of the AB5 type and is characterised in that it has a subtilase domain. It is cytotoxic to Vero cells, and toxicity in vivo in mice occurs in a number of different sites. Mutation of the serine active residue results in greater than 99% reduction in activity. The protein has been purified and antibodies have been prepared for both the A subunit and B subunits, and ELISA detection methods have been developed. The nucleic acid sequence has been determined and primers specific for the toxin have been used for a preliminary screen of a range of patient samples to ascertain the extent to which the toxin is present.

Method for preparing vegetable cultivation medium by virtue of earthworm hydrolysate

The invention relates to a method for preparing a vegetable cultivation medium by virtue of earthworm hydrolysate, and belongs to the field of nutrition media for plants and making methods for the nutrition media. The vegetable cultivation medium is prepared by breeding earthworms with stacked poultry and livestock manure to convert the manure for feeding the earthworms into earthworm cast, mixing the bred earthworms and subtilisin to automatically hydrolyze the earthworms to obtain the earthworm hydrolysate and adding a proper amount of peat into a mixture of the earthworm cast and the earthworm hydrolysate. Examples show that the method is unique and novel; the prepared cultivation medium is high in water and fertilizer retention, and plant roots can be easily fixed; moreover, the cultivation medium contains large amounts of amino acids and proteins, so that survival rates of cultivated vegetables are remarkably increased by over 88 percent.
