In accordance with the present invention, a flexible face mask is provided for protecting the face from sunlight, wind, and other outdoor elements. Various embodiments of the face mask provide varying levels of facial coverage to suit user preferences. In a first embodiment, the face mask comprises a nose shield portion configured to cover and conform to the user's nose, a lip shield portion configured to cover the user's upper lip, a pair of cheek shield portions configured to cover the sides of the user's face, and a pair of ear strap portions configured to cover the ears, and receive the user's ears and eyewear via a pair of “C”-shaped cuts and insertion slits, respectively. A reinforcing strip on the skin-facing side of the nose shield provides structure and allows the nose shield to better conform to the user's nose. The face mask features two means of attachment to various forms of eyewear. For eyeglasses, a pair of small “C”-shaped cuts in the upper center portion of the nose shield are configured to receive the nose pads of the user's eyeglasses to further secure the face mask to the user's face. For goggles or eyeglasses, a set of hook and loop (i.e. Velcro) patches with adhesive backings can be utilized, wherein one patch is affixed to the underside of the eyewear's nose bridge and the mating patch is affixed to the area inside the “C” cuts of the nose shield. A second embodiment of the face mask provides less facial coverage and only covers the nose, cheek bones, and ears. A third embodiment of the face mask provides more facial coverage and covers the nose, cheeks, ears, upper and lower lips, and chin. In a preferred embodiment, the face mask is composed of an outer first layer of spandex having a sun protective factor, an intermediate second layer of open-cell foam, and a third layer of micro-suede material that contacts the skin.

Flexible nose guard

In accordance with the present invention, a flexible nose guard is provided for protecting the nose from sunlight, the cold, and other outdoor elements. The nose guard is configured to cover the bridge and sides of a user's nose. In a preferred embodiment, the nose guard has a pentagonal body, resembling an upside-down pentagon with rounded corners. The top portion of the nose guard is substantially flat and sized to conform around the bridge of the nose. The bottom portion of the nose guard is a rounded corner or hyperbolic-shape configured to rest on top of the bridge of the nose. In a preferred embodiment, the nose guard is composed of an outer first layer of spandex having a sun protective factor, an intermediate second layer of open-cell foam, and a third, skin-facing layer of micro-suede material that contacts the skin. The nose guard offers different means of attachment to a user's face. On the surface of the nose guard's outer layer is a Velcro hook patch that facilitates attachment to a complimentary loop patch that can be affixed to the underside of the eyewear's nose bridge. For eyeglasses, a pair of small nose pad cuts in the upper center portion of the nose guard (on the left and right sides of the hook patch) are configured to receive the nose pads of the user's eyeglasses to further secure the face mask to the user's face. On the upper and lower perimeter of the hook patch is a fastening slit. The fastening slits are configured to provide added flexibility in the nose guard body and to receive a hook and loop fastening strap that is fastened around the bridge of the user's eyewear. The nose guard contains a thin, flexible reinforcing strip that can be bent or creased to keep the nose guard contoured to the shape of the user's nose. In a preferred embodiment the reinforcing strip is on the skin-facing layer of the nose guard and has an adhesive surface that provides for better attachment to the nose and keeps the nasal passages open for easier breathing by pulling outward on the nostrils. Alternatively, the adhesive can be provided on a separate adhesive strip on the skin-facing layer of the nose guard.

Composite powder for simultaneously blocking infrared and ultraviolet rays and cosmetics composition using the same

Disclosed is composite powder comprising infrared-ray blocking particles; and ultraviolet-ray blocking particles coated onto one surface of each of the infrared-ray blocking particles, and cosmetics composition using the same, wherein the composite powder using both the infrared-ray blocking particle and the ultraviolet-ray blocking particle enables to simultaneously block the infrared and ultraviolet rays. Thus, if the composite powder of the present invention is applied to the cosmetics, it is possible to minimize the rough wrinkles, irregular pigmentary deposits, loss of skin elasticity, disturbance of skin barrier function, skin damages such as cancer of the skin, and skin aging, and also to boost SPF (Sun Protection Factor) and PA (Protection Factor of UVA) of the related art sunscreen. Especially, the present invention uses the composite powder prepared by coating one surface of the infrared-ray blocking particle with the ultraviolet-ray blocking particles, instead of mixing powder prepared by simply mixing the infrared-ray blocking particle and the ultraviolet-ray blocking particle. That is, since the small-sized ultraviolet-ray blocking particles are coated onto and stably fixed into the surface of the infrared-ray blocking particle, it is possible to prevent aggregation of the ultraviolet-ray blocking particles, thereby preventing deterioration in uniformity of adhesion to the skin, and deterioration of the ultraviolet-ray blocking efficiency.
