The invention discloses a 
cracking catalyst for 
biomass gasification 
tar and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following preparing steps of: 1, preprocessing a carrier to prepare 16 to 100 meshes of 
olivine carrier particles; 2, introducing a main 
active component, i.e. mixing the 
olivine carrier particles and 0.01 to 2.0g / mL of Ni(NO3)2.6H2O 
aqueous solution, stirring the mixture for 2 to 15 hours at a temperature of 30 DEG C to 80 DEG C, then 
drying the stirred mixture for 12 hours at a temperature of 110 DEG C, placing an obtained 
test sample into a 
muffle furnace, calcining the 
test sample for 3 to 20 hours at a temperature of 500 to 1,000 DEG C, cooling the calcined 
test sample to the 
room temperature and 
grinding the cooled test sample; 3, introducing functional assistant 
active components, i.e. respectively mixing the loaded 
olivine particles and 0.01 to 1.5g / mL of Ce(NO3)3.6H2O 
aqueous solution and 0.01 to 1.5g / mL of 
ammonium tungstate aqueous solution, stirring the mixture for 2 to 15 hours at a temperature of 30 DEG C to 80 DEG C, then 
drying the stirred mixture for 12 hours at a temperature of 110 DEG C, placing an obtained test sample into the 
muffle furnace, calcining the test sample for 3 to 20 hours at a temperature of 500 to 1,000 DEG C, cooling the calcined test sample to the 
room temperature and 
grinding the cooled test sample; 4, forming the catalyst; and 5, activating the catalyst. The catalyst prepared by the preparation method has the advantages of high 
mechanical strength, strong capability of resisting to carbon formation inactivation and 
nickel sintering inactivation, strong capability of resisting to H2S poisoning and strong capability of removing 
tar.
