Abstract

The invention provides a method and a system for reporting positioning survey, wherein the method comprises the steps: the positioning survey of a terminal in the idle mode is initiated; the terminal in the idle mode sends to a base station the positioning survey-related information which is carried in a request message for random initial access. The system for reporting positioning survey comprises: a base station for assigning messages to response messages and uplink resources sent by the terminal; a terminal for implementing the initial access with the base station after the terminal initiates the positioning survey and sending to the base station the request message with the positioning survey-related information carried therein. According to the invention, the terminal in the idle mode can use the request message, by means of the random initial access, to report the positioning survey-related parameters and information of LBS to the base station, and the overhead of code resources can be saved in case that the request message is applied to requesting resources.
