Abstract

The invention discloses a system and a method for implementing circuit switched fallback (CSFB) service of evolved packet system (EPS). The method comprises that: when user equipment (UE) resides in an EPS network and is jointly registered in a mobility management entity (MME) and a mobile switching center (MSC) and circuit switched (CS) service happens, CS call session is established between theUE and the MSC through an EPS data transmission channel; an eNodeB acquires a radio measurement report of the UE according to the indication of the MME, determines a fallback target network of the UEand sends a switching request to the MME, and the MME sends the switching request to the MSC; the MSC executes the CS process, acquires radio resource access parameters of a target network and returns switching response to the MME, and the MME sends a switching command to the UE through the eNodeB; and the UE is switched to the target network according to the radio resource access parameters in the switching command to perform subsequent CS call. The method and the system can quicken the call establishing speed, and shorten the call establishing time of a calling process and a called process.
