110 results about "Call set-up time" patented technology

In telecommunication, the term call set-up time has the following meanings: The overall length of time required to establish a circuit-switched call between users. For data communication, the overall length of time required to establish a circuit-switched call between terminals; i.e., the time from the initiation of a call request to the beginning of the call message. Note: Call set-up time is the summation of: call request time—the time from initiation of a calling signal to the delivery to the caller of a proceed-to-select signal; selection time—the time from the delivery of the proceed-to-select signal until all the selection signals have been transmitted; and post selection time—the time from the end of the transmission of the selection signals until the delivery of the call-connected signal to the originating terminal. This article incorporates public domain material from the General Services Administration document "Federal Standard 1037C".

Method for realizing trunking traffic and trunking user terminal

The invention discloses a method for realizing trunking traffic and a trunking user terminal. The method is realized in a digital trunking communication system based on a time division long term evolution (TD-LTE) technique. In the digital trunking communication system based on the TD-LTE technique, a logical channel and a transmission channel which are used for realizing the trunking traffic arenewly added, wherein the logical channel is a trunking paging control channel (TPCCH) and a trunking traffic channel (TTCH), the transmission channel is a trunking paging transmission channel (TPCH),and identifications and mapping approaches which are used for distinguishing the logical channel from the other logical channels are respectively defined for the TPCCH and the TTCH. Through the TPCCH, paging and control messages, such as the call setup, the call release, the discourse right notice and the like of the trunking traffic, are loaded. Through the TTCH, the data messages of the trunking traffic are loaded. By applying the scheme of the invention, call setup time can be shortened, and resource utilization ratio can be increased.

Dispatch call origination and set up in a CDMA mobile communication system

In a CDMA wireless communication system (200) a dispatch call can be established between two CDMA mobile stations (202, 226), or between other mobile stations and the CDMA mobile station, or between a CDMA mobile station and a computer (236) located outside of the wireless system. To reduce the delay normally association with call set up in a CDMA system, a dispatch processing network (128, 144) is provided in addition to a telephony switch (118). Dispatch calls and call set up requests are routed to the dispatch processing network from the radio access network (110) which includes base stations (204, 206). Once a dispatch call request is made, while the dispatch processing network begins setting up a traffic channel for the originating mobile communication device, the target is also paged, and upon responding, set up on a traffic channel. The concurrence of establishing radio links with the target and originating communication devices substantially reduces dispatch call set up time.

Method for achieving group calling business

The invention discloses a method for achieving a group calling business. The method is achieved based on a broadband digital trunking communication system which is achieved on the basis of a time division-long term evolution (TD-LTE) technology. As a TD-LTE system uses a full internet protocol (IP)-based and flattened network framework, a base station communicates with a core network directly, accordingly, the time delay of a control plane and a user plane is small, and calling setting time is shortened; and as the TD-LTE technology uses an advanced air interface technology, so that the transmission delay of a wireless network is reduced greatly; in addition, during the setting process of group callings, a signaling message parallel processing mode is used, that is resources are allocated to a calling terminal and a called terminal in parallel, a radio bearer, an S1 bearer and the like are built, and accordingly, the calling setting time is further shortened; and as the TD-LTE system is achieved in a packet domain, smooth backward evolution is facilitated.

Method of reducing call setup time for IP services in a mobile communication network

To initiate a communication session between a mobile station and an application server, the mobile station sends a reconnect message to a base station to reestablish a communication channel for a dormant packet data session. The reconnect message includes an encapsulated call control message to said application server. The base station extracts the call control message from the reconnect message and forwards the call control message towards the application server, while proceeding to reestablish a communication channel with the mobile station.

Methods and systems for providing mobile location management services in a network routing node

Disclosed is a mobility management routing (MMR) node that performs location management signaling operations associated with mobile subscribers. The MMR node may also perform the signaling message routing functionality typically provided by a network routing node, such as a signaling system 7 (SS7) signal transfer point (STP) or an SS7-over-Internet protocol signaling gateway (SG). The MMR node caches mobile subscriber information extracted from messages transmitted between an HLR and a VLR and responds to some of the messages using the cached information. As a result, signaling message traffic and call setup time in a mobile communications network are reduced.

Method and apparatus for facilitating PTT session initiation and service interaction using an IP-based protocol

Various embodiments are described which can provide reduced PTT call setup times and a greater degree of service integration for PTT users. A PTT originator's MSC (171) notifies (205) the PTT server of a PTT session request before the originator (101) has the channel and data connection resources to send a PTT session request itself. This enables the PTT server (161) to trigger (207) the establishment of channel and data connection resources for the PTT target (102) before the originator is able to trigger the same by sending a PTT session request itself. Also, the target's MSC (172) notifies (221) the PTT server after the target responds to a page for the session, enabling the PTT server to indicate PTT session acceptance (223) on behalf of the target before the target has the channel and data connection resources to respond to a PTT session request.
