Abstract

The invention discloses a method for breeding and planting begonia evansiania 'Kaiyun' (a variety of begonia evansiania), which adopts the artificial pollination. The method comprises the following steps: adopting the B. 'Silvery Pearl' as female parent and adopting the B.augustinei Hemsl. as male parent to execute artificial pollination and hybridize; then selecting and breeding from F1 generation group; and testing the number of chromosome of the parents and filial generation, wherein the leaf of the new bred variety of the begonia evansiania B. 'Kaiyun' is in amaranth from which silvery white transmits in young stage; when the leaf grows gradually, the complete color of the leaf is in silvery white with a little amaranth, and excepting the parts of the leaf along the main vein and the lateral veins are in linear green, the rest parts are in silvery white spots. The begonia evansiania 'Kaiyun' is planted in humus soil with rich organic substance, good air permeability and drainage when the temperature is 15-25 DEG C and relative air humidity is 65-75%.
