Problems solved by technology

However, as will become apparent from the illustrations of US 2005 / 0177093, not all knee joint surfaces can be treated by the phototherapy device as the slits and holes allow the phototherapy device to obtain the Three-dimensional shape, cannot be used to emit light
[0005] A disadvantage of these known phototherapy treatment devices is that they are only well suited for a limited number of body parts

Embodiment Construction

[0034] figure 1 is a schematic illustration of a cross-section of an embodiment of a light therapy system 10 according to the present invention. The light therapy system 10 includes a flexible sheet 20 attached to a deformable edge 30 . The deformable edge 30 includes a perimeter having a substantially constant length. The elastic sheet 20 includes a treatment area 100 configured to irradiate (see Figure 3A ) of the light emitting device 40 . The elastic thin plate 20 is configured to be elastic in a direction that is locally approximately parallel to the elastic thin plate 20 . The use of the elastic sheet 20 reduces or even prevents the creation of wrinkles in the surface on which the light emitting device 40 is applied when the elastic sheet 20 and / or the deformable edge 30 is reshaped. As a result, substantially uniform illumination of the treatment area 100 is ensured while allowing the light therapy system 10 to work well with substantially any body part 200 (see ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a light treatment system (10, 12, 14). The light treatment system comprises an elastic sheet (20) connected to a deformable rim (30). The deformable rim comprises a perimeter having a substantially fixed length. The elastic sheet comprises light emitting means (40, 42, 44) configured for illuminating a treatment area (100), the elastic sheet being configured for being elastic in a direction substantially parallel to the elastic sheet for reducing the occurrence of folds in the elastic sheet when reshaping the deformable rim, and being configured for being conformable to the treatment area. An effect of the light treatment system according to the invention is that the elastic property of the elastic sheet enables the deformable rim to be deformed in substantially any direction while the elastic sheet remains substantially conformable to the treatment area. Consequently a substantial uniform illumination of the treatment area is ensured while allowing a well defined fit to substantially any body part

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to light therapy systems. Background technique [0002] Light therapy systems are known per se. They are used in skin treatment systems to provide skin treatments for cosmetic and medical applications, among others. Medical phototherapy includes, for example, phototherapy using ultraviolet light radiation to treat eg psoriasis, and phototherapy eg using red or blue light in combination with a photo-synthesizer to treat eg skin cancer. Cosmetic light therapy includes, for example, skin care using a mixture of, for example, infrared light and amber light. Such skin care treatments are described, for example, in US Pat. No. 6,663,659. [0003] Another system for skin treatment by light is known from WO 2006 / 081221 which discloses a phototherapeutic treatment device for applying area lighting to a wound. The disclosed phototherapy treatment device includes a light emitter adapted to be placed adjacent to a wound to apply l...
