Problems solved by technology

However, the long-term and large-scale use of chemical tick-killing drugs will cause serious problems such as drug residues and environmental hazards (Currie, 2004; Terada., 2010; Nong., 2012)
However, there is no report of Eupatorium adenophorum killing blood-sucking insects (ticks)

Embodiment Construction

[0011] The present invention will be described in detail below in conjunction with specific embodiments.

[0012] 1. Materials and Methods

[0013] 1.1 Eupatorium adenophorum and its extract

[0014] Eupatorium adenophorum: collected from Xichang City, Sichuan Province, Southwest China, in November 2010.

[0015] Eupatorium adenophorum extract: extracted by three methods: decoction with water (F.macchioni., 2004), heat reflux with ethanol and water distillation (Khodadad., 2009). The ethanol hot reflux extract was prepared into different concentrations of medicinal solutions with distilled water and glycerol (1:1), and the other two extracts were dissolved in distilled water and formulated into different concentrations of medicinal solutions.

[0016] 1.2 Blood ticks used in the test

[0017] The long-horned blood ticks were collected from the body surface of domestic animals in endemic areas. After collection, they were placed in small jars pre-installed with fine sand an...

Abstract

The invention discloses application of a Eupatorium adenophorum in preparation of a medicine for killing blood sucking insects (ticks). The results show that when the concentration of a Eupatorium adenophorum ethanol extract is 1.0 to 1.5g/ml, the effect on killing larval and nymphal ticks of haemaphysalis longicornis is good and is equivalent to the effect of chlorpyrifos. The research results indicate that the Eupatorium adenophorum contains the active components for killing blood sucking insects (ticks), so that Eupatorium adenophorum can be developed and utilized as a plant-derived Chinese medicinal herb.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the application of Eupatorium adenophorum extract in preparing medicine for killing blood-sucking insects (ticks). Background technique [0002] Ticks are a kind of blood-sucking insects that harm many vertebrates. There are 897 species of ticks in 3 families, 18 genera, and 119 species in 2 families, 10 genera, and 119 species in my country. Ticks need to feed on the blood of the host animal during each active period. After tick bites, the skin tissue of the host is damaged, leaving tiny wounds, sometimes causing dermatitis, erosion, ulcers or secondary infection systemic symptoms, and in severe cases, the host animal will die. If domestic animals are parasitized by ticks, not only the fur is easily damaged, but also the quality of livestock products will be reduced, the output of livestock products will be affected, and even the livestock will die. Ticks can also transmit pathogens such as viruses, chlamydia, ricket...
