An embodiment of the invention discloses a method and a mobile terminal for screening calls. The method comprises the steps of obtaining a current position, and calculating the distance between the current position and a position of a preset screening site; obtaining the preset screening site which is most approximate to the current position in distance, and calibrating the mobile terminal as a screening state if the distance between the current position and the position of the most approximate preset screening site is smaller than a set threshold value; determining whether a calling number of a call is a phone number corresponding to the set screening site during the calling; and screening the call if the calling number is a phone number corresponding to the set screening site. According to the method and the mobile terminal for screening calls, some calls can be screened selectively, the problem that inappropriate calls are answered at inappropriate places is solved, and the mobile terminal has humanized characteristics.
