Abstract

The invention provides a method for dynamically adding an optical line terminal (OLT) into an Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) management system, which is used for solving the problems of complicated equipment management and poor efficiency of the existing EPON management system. The method comprises the following steps of: step 1, searching in a database and inputting the data which has the same internet protocol (IP) addresses with the OLT which is selected to add; step 2, determining the type of OLT equipment, utilizing management information base (MIB) nodes corresponding to the equipment, reading the parameters of a port under the OLT and reading out the state of the port, and adding the port into the database; step 3, obtaining the IP address corresponding to a media access control (MAC) address according to the MAC address which is imported into an optical network unit (ONU) configuration list before the OLT is added; step 4, reading in the ONU information through the IP address in the step 3, reading an objector identifier (OID), and determining and adding a current ONU equipment type into the database; and step 5, reading an ONU port through the OID, and adding the port information and the port state into the database.
