Abstract

Provided in an embodiment of the present invention are a sector selection method during cell handover and a base station controller, the method comprising: determining a first sector, the first sector being a sector in the serving cell of a user equipment (UE) and a sector that the UE is currently in; determining a neighboring sector of the first sector, and determining whether the neighboring sector is the sector of a target cell that the UE will hand over into, the target cell being the neighboring cell of the serving cell; activating the remote radio unit (RRU) or radio frequency unit (RFU) of at least one second sector according to the determination result, such that the RRU or RFU of the at least one second sector transmits information to the UE, the at least one second sector being a sector in the target cell.
