Abstract

The invention provides an ONU (Optical Network Unit)-transferable TWDM-PON (Time and Wavelength Division Multiplexed Passive Optical Network) system which can realize flexible transfer of online users on different active wavelengths via a specific protocol, and specifically realizes information interaction of an ONU and an OLT (Optical Line Terminal) in the migration process under the existing EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) protocol through redefining some MAC (Media Access Control) protocol frames. The ONU-transferable TWDM-PON system adopts the technical scheme comprising the steps as follows: a, the ONU is registered in the system via the IEEE802.3ah multi-point control protocol, and a unique logical link identifier and a wavelength identifier are distributed for the new registered ONU; and b, the OLT requires the ONU to perform transfer via the specific protocol, and then the ONU exits the registration and performs re-registration according to the requirements of the OLT.
