Problems solved by technology

[0016] During the research and practice of the existing technology, it is found that the existing technology has the following problems: when the MTC-IWF sends trigger information at the T4 interface, if the short message service (SMS, Short Messaging Service) related entities (such as SM-SC, GMSC, IWMSC, SMS Router) and HLR use the MAP protocol for intercommunication, while MME, Tsp, and S6m use the Diameter protocol for intercommunication. How to implement the protocol conversion between MAP and Diameter during the cooperative communication of the above network elements, which network entity Complete the protocol conversion, if SMS in MME is supported, which protocol should be used between the SMS core network entities, etc., have not yet been resolved

Embodiment 1

[0133] This example implements the method of triggering information sending for the scenario where SMS Router and HSS are deployed. Figure 5 It is a flowchart of a method for triggering information transmission and protocol conversion in Embodiment 1 of the present invention, such as Figure 5 As shown, the method for triggering information sending and protocol conversion in this example includes the following steps:

[0134] Step 301, MTC-IWF sends trigger information to SM-SC.

[0135] After receiving the trigger information sent by the SCS for the MTC device, the MTC-IWF forwards the trigger information to the SM-SC. The MTC-IWF sends trigger information to the SM-SC through a T4 interface, and the T4 interface supports Diameter protocol or SMPP.

[0136] Step 302, SM-SC sends short message trigger information to SMS GMSC.

[0137] The Diameter protocol is adopted between the SM-SC and the SMS Gateway Mobile Switching Center (GMSC, Gateway Mobile Switching Center);

Embodiment 2

[0153] This embodiment implements a method for sending trigger information for a scenario where the network supports SMS in MME. Figure 6 It is a flow chart of the method for triggering information sending and protocol conversion in Embodiment 2 of the present invention, such as Figure 6 As shown, the method for triggering information sending and protocol conversion in this example includes the following steps:

[0154] Step 401, MTC-IWF sends trigger information to SM-SC.

[0155] This step is the same as step 301, and its implementation details will not be repeated here.

[0156] Step 402, SM-SC sends short message trigger information to SMS GMSC.

[0157] This step is the same as step 302, and its implementation details will not be repeated here.

[0158] In step 403, the SMS GMSC sends an SRI-for-SM request message to the HSS.

[0159] The Diameter protocol is used to send the SRI-for-SM request message between the SMS GMSC and the HSS.

[0160] In step 404, the HSS...

Embodiment 3

[0170] This embodiment implements a method for sending trigger information for a scenario where the network does not support SMS in MME, Figure 7 It is a flowchart of a method for triggering information transmission and protocol conversion in Embodiment 3 of the present invention, such as Figure 7 As shown, the method for triggering information sending and protocol conversion in this example includes the following steps:

[0171] Step 501, MTC-IWF sends trigger information to SM-SC.

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for trigger information sending and protocol conversion. The method comprises the following steps: a machine type communication interworking function MTC-IWF which receives trigger information of an MTC device obtains routing information of the MTC device through a signing service network element; the MTC-IWF sends the received trigger information targeted for the MTC device to a service core network node of the MTC device through a short messaging service core network node; and the service core network node of the MTC device send the trigger information to the MTC device. In the above process, the MTC-IWF or a dedicated IWF or an SMS Router is utilized to realize the signaling conversion between an MAP protocol and a Diameter protocol. The invention further discloses a system for realizing the method for trigger information sending and protocol conversion. Through the technical scheme, the trigger information can be sent from a T4 interface, and the protocol conversion procedure of the MAP and the Diameter is determined.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to wireless communication technology, in particular to a method and system for triggering information transmission and protocol conversion in a Machine Type Communication (MTC, Machine Type Communication) system. Background technique [0002] Machine-to-machine (M2M, Machine to Machine) technology refers to all technologies for establishing connections between machines. The concept of M2M appeared in the 1990s, but it only stayed at the theoretical stage. After 2000, with the development of mobile communication technology, it became possible to realize the networking of machine equipment with mobile communication technology. M2M services appeared in the market around 2002, and developed rapidly in the following years, becoming the focus of attention of many communication equipment manufacturers and telecom operators. At present, the number of machines in the world is much larger than the number of people, so it can be pr...
