Abstract

The invention discloses a method for creating a Power virtual server based on storage and copying. The method comprises the following steps of (1) creating the initial virtual server through a System Director, and installing a Power Linux system; (2) modifying a configuration file of the initial virtual server, and deleting the personalized configuration and the information related with the equipment; (3) deleting the initial virtual server through the System Director, but remaining a logic volume corresponding to the initial virtual server in a VIOS (visual internet operating system), and using the logic volume as a template of the new virtual server; (4) copying the logic volume; (5) obtaining the ID (identify) of the copied logic volume; (6) according to the obtained ID of the logic volume, creating the new virtual server; (7) starting the new virtual server, and updating the network configuration.
