An automatic monitoring system of an energy storage station collects voltages, currents, and powers of all battery piles, battery groups, and single batteries; a calculation module completes calculation of a reliability evaluation index of high-capacity energy storage equipment completely; a limit-value warning module compares the evaluation index with a predetermined limit value to determine whether the index is abnormal; and if so, warning prompting is carried out. The calculation result and the evaluation result are stored historically and functions of historical querying, report manufacturing, and warning prompting are provided. With the method, determination of a reliability index of a high-capacity energy storage station is realized and warning is caries out when the index is abnormal. Meanwhile, the workload of hand-operated calculation of the evaluation index of the operator in the prior art is reduced substantially; the work efficiency is improved; an error caused by hand-operated calculation is minimized; and the calculation result accuracy is improved.
