[0014] The present invention includes noise canceling techniques and circuits that can be implemented in personal audio equipment, such as radiotelephones. Personal audio equipment includes ANC circuitry that measures the ambient acoustic environment and generates a signal that is injected into the speaker (or other transducer) output to cancel ambient acoustic events. A reference microphone may be set to measure the ambient acoustic environment, and the personal audio device may include an error microphone for controlling the adaptation of the anti-noise signal to cancel ambient audio sounds and for correcting the electro-acoustic path from the output of the processing circuit through the transducer .
