Typical varieties which are popularized to be planted in a large area in a variety replacement process are selected as test materials to be planted; agronomic characters, in particular stalk characters, are investigated, to fit a curve that the stalk characters are changed along the year; correlation coefficients of the stalk characters to the yield, the biomass yield and the harvesting index are inspected to perform multiple stepwise regression and path analysis on morphological characters of stalks and search key factors for seed yield; and three key factors for the seed yield include internode length below the spike, length of the last two nodes and dry weight of the internode.
