Abstract

The invention relates to intelligent line selection for a client. A line selection method comprises the following steps of receiving results for carrying out PING speed measurement on a plurality of lines used for connecting user equipment and a network application, wherein the lines at least include a first line and a second line which belong to different network operators respectively; judging whether the two lines are in PING communication according to the results for PING speed measurement; if the two lines are in PING communication, comparing a difference between PING values of the first line and the second line with a first threshold; carrying out TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) speed measurement to obtain TCP values of the two lines if the difference between the two PING values is smaller than the first threshold or the two lines are not in PING communication; comparing a difference between the TCP values of the two lines with a second threshold; and selecting a predetermined line in the two lines to enter a login server if the difference between the TCP values of the two lines is smaller than the second threshold.
