The mobile terminal comprises an application management module, a to-be-displayed image generating module and a resolution ratio regulation module, wherein the application management module is used for setting corresponding display resolution for the application according to the user instructions; the to-be-displayed image generating module is used for running the application to generate to-be-displayed images after the application is started; and the resolution ratio regulation module is used for regulating the resolution ratio of the to-be-displayed images, so that the resolution ratio of the regulated to-be-displayed images is in accordance with that of a display screen. According to the invention, and the application can run smoothly in an operating system with corresponding resolution ratio, so that the disadvantage that the service life of the mobile terminal is shortened due to the performance defects caused by the reason that the application of the mobile terminal runs under the condition of improper resolution ratio can be prevented, and the to-be-displayed images can be displayed in the display screen normally.
