The method comprises the steps of generating a request by receiving a flow diagram sent by a web application; controlling the display of a flow diagram generation interface in the web application, wherein the flow diagram generation interface comprises at least one web element; responding to flow diagram construction operation which is executed by a user in the flow diagram generation interface through the adoption of the web element, and generating a method of constituting the flow diagram through the web element. In this way, online generation of the flow diagram is achieved, no third-party tool needs to be installed, and thus the problem in the prior art that the construction of the flow diagram cannot be achieved caused when the third-party tools cannot be installed is effectively avoided.
