Method and system for displaying and interacting with an informational message based on an information processing system event

A method is illustrated the flow diagram 100 of FIG. 1. A processor 1001 renders a message 1025 for the processor operator's education during times of processor latency 1015 such as dialing onto any network such as the Internet. This wait time 1017 is normally non-productive and therefore can be used in such a way as to be non-invasive. It is also understood that this time is short so as to make other actions such as getting up from the desk not attractive. Finally even if the wait time was or became very short the present invention provides the first message 1025 to the process operator, that has been filtered. This filtering is a balance of the message owner's willingness to out bid other messages, the time of the day, the location of the operator, and finally the operator's likes and dislikes.

System and method for generating and maintaining software code

A system and method for intelligently generating computer code. The system being comprised of a local computer, which is connected to a remote computer via a network system or the Internet and which is capable of exchanging files with the remote computer. The local computer is further comprised of a document manager for transferring files between the local computer and the remote computer and for providing enhanced file management functions. The document manager works in connection with the server module, the site manager and the connectivity layer to connect to remote computers, to transparently exchange files with the remote computer and to manage server profiles and connection information that is related to remote computers and transferred files. Once the file is transferred to the local computer, the editor can modify the code associated with the file; the editor is also capable of creating new files. The visualizer is capable of displaying a program flow diagram and a data flow diagram, which are comprised of program flow icons and data flow arrows to depict the code in terms of processing blocks and data blocks. To assist in developing new code or editing existing code, the template manager allows the user to browse through a directory of existing code sections or templates and to copy templates into the selected code for editing. For allowing the editor to process code that is written in different Data Management System programming languages and for creating the program flow icons, the parser layer detects the file type of a selected file and activates the rules and logic that apply to the corresponding Data Management System.

Method and system for digital file flow management

InactiveUS20090199090A1Enhanced chatEasy to navigateOffice automationSpecial data processing applicationsCollaborative authoringObject context
We construct a systematic scheme of information concerning provenance among digital objects, make this information available to the user, and use it to modify the effect of user's actions. Such relationships are derived by comparison of elements in the files or by making records when creating them. This information may be displayed by a view of a descent tree, a flow diagram, or internal markup of a combined view of object content. The provenance structure enables selection of related subsets for search, constraints on search such as ‘root occurrence’ or ‘unmerged occurrences’, and selection of appropriate objects to merge or respond to. It defines the active set of objects for any chosen time, enabling a display of commonality and difference among versions at any stage of a project involving one or more collaborators, with or without one of them having final authority over the suggestions of the others. Applications include but are not limited to project flow management including bug reporting and correction, collaborative authoring (by document circulation or by wiki), enhanced chat, enhanced navigation among available objects, and retrieval of objects by following provenance pathways.

System and method for processing and tracking telecommunications service orders

A system and method for tracking and processing Service Orders for a telecommunications company. Workflows are used to model business procedures used for processing Service Orders. Each Workflow comprises a plurality of Workflow steps. Business process models are depicted as Workflow diagrams. The Workflow diagrams are stored in a library in a database. Work plans comprising a plurality of Workflow steps and associated data and are derived from information found in the Workflow diagrams. Upon receipt of a Service Order, an appropriate work plan is selected based on information within the Service Order. Each Workflow step is assigned a resource and is scheduled for completion with a start and a stop date and placed in the in-boxes associated with the selected resource. Users log-on to remote workstations coupled with a company-wide Intranet or the like. From the remote workstations, users from various organizations view their in-boxes and other information about current Service Orders. Such information includes detailed information about the Service Orders including, progress data, current, future and past Workflow step data, responsible groups, computer systems and organizations, whether schedules are maintained, and whether jeopardy points have been missed. If a Service Order is delayed, users can immediately determine information about the delay and take corrective action before it becomes critical. Workflow steps can be transferred and re-assigned using the remote workstations. Detailed statistical information is maintained for audit and reporting purposes. Reports reflecting the effectiveness of workforce management and work administration is obtained.

Reconfigurable processing

A method of producing a reconfigurable circuit device for running a computer program of moderate complexity such as multimedia processing. Code for the application is compiled into Control Flow Graphs representing distinct parts of the application to be run. From those Control Flow Graphs are extracted basic blocks. The basic blocks are converted to Data Flow Graphs by a compiler utility. From two or more Data Flow Graphs, a largest common subgraph is determined. The largest common subgraph is ASAP scheduled and substituted back into the Data Flow Graphs which also have been scheduled. The separate Data Flow Graphs containing the scheduled largest common subgraph are converted to data paths that are then combined to form code for operating the application. The largest common subgraph is effected in hardware that is shared among the parts of the application from which the Data Flow Graphs were developed. Scheduling of the overall code is effected for sequencing, providing fastest run times and the code is implemented in hardware by partitioning and placement of processing elements on a chip and design of the connective fabric for the design elements.

Computer implemented modeling and analysis of an application user interface

A Modeling and Analysis Program (MAP) having a modeler, an estimator, and an evaluator is disclosed. The MAP guides the user through the design process. The modeler takes the user's input of a process diagram and creates a model organized by pages. An estimator is applied to the model to calculate the performance along the pages on each path in the model. The performance is compared to criteria. Software security based on control flow integrity

Software control flow integrity is provided by embedding identifying bit patterns at computed control flow instruction sources and destinations. The sources and destinations of computed control flow instructions are determined with reference to a control flow graph. The identifying bit patterns are compared during software execution, and a match between a source and a respective destination ensures control flow consistent with the control flow graph. Security measures are implemented when the comparison results in a mismatch, indicating that control flow has deviated from the anticipated course.
