According to the detection method, host operation data of a smart electric meter is obtained based on AMI; observing measure is established for traffic and indexes such as an operation CPU utilization rate, the process number, the port number and network interface byte throughput of a host; a detection model is determined through a standard training data set and a seasonal model time sequence method; traffic measure is obtained in real time; abnormal behaviors possibly contained in the traffic of the smart electric meter are detected through a detection model; the behaviors may be fault traffic resulting from a device fault, or attack traffic generated after an operating system of a device is invaded and controlled, or the attack traffic injected after a collection line is attacked by a middle man; and the security of the system is improved.
