The instrument consists of an X-ray tube (1), a high-voltage power supply (2), an integrated semiconductor detector (3) and an X-ray processor (4). The original-level X rays generated by the X-ray tube (1) and the high-voltage power supply (2) are the excitation source of the instrument for identifying the metal content of the mineral qualitatively and automatically. The integrated semiconductor detector (3) adopts an integrated structure formed by an X-ray detector, an amplifier (31), a digital pulse processor (32), a power supply and interface (33) and a +5-volt power supply (34). An X-ray spectroscopy principle is utilized, the mineral passing through an original-level X-ray irradiation area at the front end of the X-ray tube (1) is automatically identified by the X-ray processor (4), whether the mineral contains useful metal or not is determined, and an accurate processing signal is provided for an execution mechanism to decide to maintain or remove the mineral.
