Abstract

The techniques of this disclosure can digitally generate driver signals with a finer period (or frequency) resolution than can be achieved by simply counting the clock periods of the system clock. The driver signals can be configured to trigger based on a single output clock signal, which can be phase shifted relative to the main system clock. The clock phase shift circuit can increase the phase shift of the output clock signal by any fraction relative to the main system clock. Driver signals generated based on the phase-shifted output clock can achieve high resolution in frequency that is desired when controlling some pulse width modulation circuits, such as LLC converters.
