Embodiment Construction

[0014] figure 1 An embodiment of a tissue anomaly detection device 1000 is shown, which can be used to detect anomalies in human or animal body tissue. Abnormalities can be, for example, tumors and / or calcifications. Specifically, early stage tumors (such as malignant breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colorectal cancer) can be detected by the detection device 1000 .

[0015] The detection apparatus 1000 comprises: a patient positioning structure 1 , a probe transmitter device 2 , a receiving device 4 and a processing module 5 (PROC), wherein the patient positioning structure 1 is configured to allow assuming a detection position of a patient. Preferably, the detection device 1000 includes one or more reflective walls 3 .

[0016] Furthermore, according to a particular embodiment, the detection device 1000 comprises a controller module 14 (CONTR) and a display 16 (DISP), wherein the controller module 14 is connected to the probe transmitter device 2 via a wired or wireless ...

Abstract

It is described a tissue anomaly detection apparatus (1000) comprising: a probe transmitter device (2) structured to radiate a radio-frequency signal (SRAD) to irradiate a patient tissue in near-fieldconditions; the probe transmitter device (2) being provided with: an antenna radiating element (12) configured to radiate the radio-frequency signal with a linear polarization (E) and an actuator (13) mechanically coupled to the antenna radiating element (12) to cause a rotation of the antenna radiating element so as to rotate the polarization of the radio- frequency signal.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to electromagnetic detection systems for detecting abnormalities such as tumors and calcifications in living tissue, and in particular but not limited to early detection of breast cancer, colorectal cancer and prostate cancer. Background technique [0002] Document EP-A-2465428 discloses a method of tissue anomaly detection using a probe transmitter device, ie a transmitter equipped with one or two antennas coupled to the tissue under near-field conditions. The probe emitter devices described in the prior art documents are moved by the clinician to irradiate the patient's tissue under near-field conditions, thereby generating radio frequency signals resulting from the interaction with said tissue. The system also comprises receiving means for receiving said result signal and a processing module for processing the received data in order to provide information indicative of the detection of anomalies in said tissue. Specifi...
