Abstract

The invention discloses a terahertz polarization regulating and control device. The terahertz polarization regulating and control device comprises a dielectric superstructure and a substrate. The dielectric superstructure is made from an all-dielectric material and comprises columnar dielectric units distributed periodically. The ratio of the long axis length of each columnar dielectric unit to the terahertz wave length to be adjusted is in a first preset interval; the ratio of the short axis length of each columnar dielectric unit to the terahertz wave length to be adjusted is in a second preset interval; the ratio of the height of each columnar dielectric unit to the terahertz wave length to be adjusted is in a third preset interval; the ratio of the separation distance of every two adjacent columnar dielectric units in the long axis direction to the terahertz wave length to be adjusted is in a fourth preset interval; the ratio of the separation distance of every two adjacent columnar dielectric units in the short axis direction to the terahertz wave length to be adjusted is in a fifth preset interval. The working efficiency of the device is improved, and a phase modulation rangeis widened. The invention also provides a manufacturing method of the terahertz polarization regulating and control device having the above advantages.
