Abstract

The invention discloses a regenerator selecting placement and traffic grooming method in an elastic optical network. The method comprises the following steps: searching a type and location of an optimal regenerator; selecting a work link and a protection link for each service by using the shortest routing algorithm; placing the regenerator when the length of the link exceeds the maximum repeaterless transmission distance; when the service arrives, firstly observing whether residual capacity on the virtual link of the IP layer is enough to bear the service; if the service can be accomplished atthe IP layer, changing the residual capacity of the virtual link of the IP layer to accomplish the traffic grooming; if the capacity of the virtual link on the IP layer is not enough, searching a physical link on the physical layer, and then performing the above steps. By considering different regeneration ways, the regenerator can be used more reasonably, the network cost is reduced, and the network resource consumption is reduced.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for selective placement of regenerators and flow guidance, in particular to a method for selective placement of regenerators and flow guidance in elastic optical networks. Background technique [0002] The transmission of any optical channel in the optical fiber will be affected by various physical layer damages, thus limiting its transmission distance without repeaters. In order to allow the optical channel to transmit longer distances, signal regeneration needs to be implemented to synchronize and restore the signal in time, amplitude and shape. Although for IP over WDM optical network, there is a small amount of research on survivability traffic grooming for physical layer transmission damage, but such research is still very scarce, and for IP over EON, such research is still blank, when to adopt IP layer regeneration, when to use optical layer OEO regeneration to make the overall performance optimal. In order to ...
