The embodiment of the invention provides a resource file loading method and a device, electronic equipment and a storage medium, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining a current version numberof a resource file from a configuration file of an App when the App is started; judging whether the current version number is lower than the available version number; if the current version number islower than the available version number, downloading a new version resource file from the network to a resource file downloading directory of the App; searching a target resource file required to be loaded in the resource file downloading directory; and loading target resource files. Visibly, before the resource file is really loaded, the resource file capable of supporting the normal operation ofthe App is downloaded, so that when the App needs to load the resource file, only the downloaded target resource file needs to be directly loaded. Therefore, the resource file can be updated in time,meanwhile, the time for waiting for operations such as App page display by the user is greatly shortened, and the user experience is improved.
