Embodiment Construction

[0052] figure 1 A top view of a fabric 10 according to a possible embodiment of the invention is schematically shown. In particular, the fabric 10 comprises a main layer 1 having a substantially planar shape comprised between two surfaces, an inner surface 1a and an outer surface 1b. The main layer 1 may comprise, for example, a woven fabric layer, a knitted fabric layer or a non-woven fabric layer.

[0053] The fabric 10 further comprises at least one LED 2 and a support element 3 .

[0054] The support element 3 is provided with a coupling surface 3a and an inner surface 3b. The LED 2 is arranged on the coupling surface 3 a of the support element 3 . In particular, the support element 3 comprises a plurality of electrical connections 4 to which the LEDs 2 are electrically connected.

[0055] The coupling surface 3 a of the support element 3 is coupled to the inner surface 1 a of the main layer 1 . The main layer 1 is provided with at least one opening 5 arranged corresp...

Abstract

It is disclosed a fabric (10) comprising a main layer (1), at least one LED (2) and a supporting element (3), wherein the at least one LED (2) is arranged on a coupling surface (3a) of the supportingelement (3), and wherein the coupling surface (3a) is coupled to the inner surface (1a) of the main layer (1), the supporting element (3) comprising a plurality of electrical connections (4) to electrically connect the at least one LED (2) to a logic control unit (6) configured to control the at least one LED (2) in function of a sensing signal coming from a sensing device (7), the main layer (1)being provided with at least one opening (5) arranged in correspondence of the at least one LED (2) for allowing the light emitted by the at least one LED (2) to pass therethrough. It is further disclosed an article comprising the fabric (10) and a process for producing the fabric (10).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of electronic textiles (also known as smart clothing, smart clothing, smart textiles or smart fabrics). In particular, the present invention relates to a fabric having one or more LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) embedded therein, and to a process for producing such a fabric. Background technique [0002] Electronic textiles (E-textiles), and especially smart clothing, are typically provided with electronic components (e.g. sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, etc.) , shoes, gloves, pants, etc.). [0003] Garments with LEDs are known, such as shoes for children with LEDs activated in response to the wearer's steps, T-shirts or jackets with LEDs coupled to fabric. These garments are used, for example, to obtain a flashy look or to signal the presence of the wearer (eg during jogging or cycling or motorcycling on dark roads). [0004] However, often the presence of LEDs can detract from the stylish appearance of...
