The invention discloses a geometric division mode prediction method and device based on coding and decoding terminals, a storage medium and a terminal. The method comprises the steps: carrying out theoptimal mode prediction of a current coding block, and selecting a most possible mode set from a total mode set; performing mode decision in the most possible mode set; and writing the index of the optimal mode obtained by final decision in the most possible mode set into a code stream; performing mode decision from the total mode set, identifying whether the optimal mode obtained by final decision is in the most possible mode set or not by using an identification bit, if so, writing the index of the optimal mode in the most possible mode set into the code stream, and otherwise, writing the index of the optimal mode in the total mode set into the code stream. Therefore, according to the embodiment of the invention, the division mode coding cost can be reduced, the compression performanceis improved, and the coding end complexity is reduced.
